Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 · The German version is authoritative.
In short: Invimap has no account, no server of its own, no ads and no tracking. Your photos and entries stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud. We, the provider of the app, receive none of it.

2. The Invimap app
What the app stores
In Invimap you create places (rooms, cabinets, drawers), photos of them and items with names, notes and other details. This data is stored on your iPhone or iPad. It is not transferred to us or to any server we operate. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera only when you take a photo, and only with your permission. When you pick an existing photo, iOS's photo picker gives the app just that one image, not access to your library.
Sync via iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app syncs your data with your other devices through Apple's CloudKit service. The data is then stored in your private iCloud database at Apple. We have no access to its contents. Apple's processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off for Invimap in iOS Settings under “[Your Name] › iCloud”.
Sharing with others
You can share a place and everything in it with other people via iCloud. Invited people then see, and depending on the permission change, that content. Participants of a share see each other's iCloud names. Sharing only happens when you explicitly start it and can be stopped at any time. It is carried out through Apple's iCloud.
Recognition with Apple Intelligence and Vision
When you tap an object or a drawer, the app can name it using Apple Intelligence and Apple's image recognition (Vision). Searching for related items also uses Apple Intelligence. This processing happens entirely on your device; images and text are not sent to us or to servers for it.
Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight and Visual Intelligence
So you can find items through Siri, Spotlight and Visual Intelligence, the app provides their names, locations and thumbnails to these iOS features. The Spotlight index is on your device. How Apple processes Siri and Visual Intelligence requests is governed by Apple's terms; you can turn these features off for Invimap in iOS Settings.
Export
“Export Inventory” creates a ZIP file with your data and photos. Where that file goes (Files app, AirDrop, …) is entirely up to you.
Deleting
You can delete places, photos and items in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the data from the device. You delete the iCloud copy in iOS Settings under “[Your Name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Invimap”.
Contact by email
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once your request is settled, unless legal retention obligations apply.
3. This website
This website is hosted on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The server is located in Germany.
To deliver the pages, the server necessarily processes your IP address. Access is not logged. If an error occurs, the server's error message may contain the IP address; such messages are deleted automatically after 15 days at the latest. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The website sets no cookies, uses no JavaScript, no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from third-party servers (no external fonts, maps or videos).
4. Your rights
To the extent we process personal data about you at all, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Contact invimap@zeitlhuber.de. As the app's data is not stored with us, we can neither see, hand over nor delete it; you can do that directly in the app and in your iCloud settings.
5. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one where you live or the one responsible for us: Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
6. Changes
If the app changes in a way that affects how data is handled, we will update this policy. The version published here applies.
